Project Description

A set of visual translations of the song "Chamber of Reflection" by Mac Demarc.

Exploration and Experimentation

In order to capture the theme of melancholy, many different mediums were explored such as photography, digital, and traditional illustrations. Both the literal and metaphorical meanings of self-reflection were experimented upon, using mirrors and illustrations to represent the mind.

"It’s within that brings that lonely feeling"

The journey of self reflection often requires one to look deeper into themselves.

"Spend some time away"

The time spent away from the world seems like it can go on forever.

"Chamber of Reflection"

A literal chamber of reflection, with mirrors on every surfaces.

"Reflection"

The time being alone allow one to discover new aspects about themselves.

"When you leave here, you'll be clear"

The moments of self realization after those sessions of self reflection can open doors to many new possibilities.

At the end of the exploration, the main focus was to emphasize the use of mirrors to represent the literal sense of reflection while also having an object in each image to metaphorically represent an aspect of the lyrics.
